• Why The Pokerstars VIP Program Is The Best

I recently received an email from Pokerstars asking me to take a quiz about their FPP and VIP program. I was surprised by how little I actually knew about how rewarding it really is. I learned quite a bit while I was reading through their website to find the answers to the questions. I should mention that I did receive 3,000 VP’s for getting all the answers correct so if you have also received this email it will be in your best interest to do it.

It consisted of 20 questions and if you answer 15-18 correctly you will earn 1,200 VPPs and if you answer 19-20 correctly you will receive 3,000 VPPs which instantly gives you GoldStar VIP status. I’m not sure if I received this opportunity randomly or if all players received the email so I can’t post the link to the quiz but I certainly can give you guys an easy to read guide on the Pokerstars VIP program. If you have never played at Pokerstars you can receive a $50 bonus and a seat at our $2,000 weekly private freerolls by following these directions:

The Pokerstars VIP program can be somewhat confusing so I want to clear up something most players, including myself, get mixed up on. Below is a breakdown of the two types of points you will earn by playing at Pokerstars.

    • FPPs (Frequent Player Points)
    • VPPs (VIP Player Points)

    Pokerstar’s FPPs Explained

You earn Pokerstars FPPs every time you play at a real money ring table, sitngo or tournament. Just about every poker room has a program like this and most of you guys/gals know how these work so I won’t go into too much detail here.

Basically the more real money hands you play the more points you will earn and you will earn more points/hand by playing at higher limits.

    What Can I Use Pokerstar’s FPP’s For?

Pokerstars actually has the largest selection of items that you can purchase in their FPP store that I have ever seen an online poker room offer. You can use FPP’s to buy everything from a Nitendo Wii to a Porsche. You can also trade them in for cash, tournament tickets, books, DVD’s, TV’s,  iPods and just about anything else the average poker player would want.

    Pokerstar’s VPPs Explained

As you are earning FPPs at Pokerstars you are also earning VPPs.  Pokerstars has 6 different VPP/VIP levels that each reward you will increasingly +EV incentives. Here is the different VIP levels you can receive at Pokerstars along with the VPP requirements:

    • BronzeStar (all players start here)
    • SilverStar (1,200 VPPs)
    • GoldStar (3,000 VPPs)
    • PlatinumStar (7,500 VPPs)
    • Supernova (100,000 VPPs)
    • Supernova Elite (1,000,000 VPPs)

The numbers listed above are how many you just earn a month. At the BronzeStar level you will receive 1 FPP for each VPP you earn but once you reach the SilverStar level you will earn 1.5 FPPs for each VPP. This ratio increases with each level. At the SuperNova Elite level you will earn 5 FPPs for each VPP.

Each level also has many other benefits as well. At the GoldStar level for example you will receive these benefits:

    • Earn twice as many FPPs/hand
    • $285 bonus available for purchase
    • Exclusive store items
    • 5 VIP freerolls per day ($3,500 total prize pool)
    • $30,000 & $75,000 freeroll every Saturday
    • $100,000 monthly freeroll
    • Option to use FPPs to buy into $215 – $530 turnaments (regular)

As you can see there is a lot you can do with FPPs and the more VPPs you earn the better. If a BronzeStar player and a Supernova Elite player are playing at the same table for 1 hour the SNE player will earn 5x as many FPPs as the BronzeStar player. You just can’t find a more rewarding poker VIP program out there.
