  • Tips For 7 Card Stud H/L

Bet It When You Have It, Slow Play When You’re Drawing –

Seven Card Stud H/L is the “E” in H.O.R.S.E poker and is also included in many other mixed games. You may be wondering why it stands for the E. Stud hi-lo is also know as “Stud Eight or better”, so the E in eight. This game has a lot in common with Razz. This is probably one of the toughest games for HORSE players to master. One of the biggest mistakes that many beginning 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo players make is the mistake of not knowing what action to make and when to make it. It is very common for new Card Stud Hi-Lo players to not know when to bet their hand, raise someone else’s bet or fold their hand. Although many players think that it won’t make a big difference with just checking or being a call station, it makes a big difference, not only to how other players will view your skill but also on your wallet.

In order to become a successful 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo Poker player you need to know all the ins and outs of how to play Poker. As a beginner Poker player you will first want to read the rules to the game and then find some good tips or strategies for that specific game. Like in this article we will help you to learn when to raise it up or fold it up and how to know the difference. Knowing these things is especially important when it comes to playing a fixed limit Poker variation. Before you sit down at a table, be sure you know what type of Poker it is and whether it is no limit, fixed limit or pot limit as each is quite different. The Poker we are talking about in this article is fixed limit 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo Poker. Follow the tips below and you are sure to have a better understanding on when to bet, raise or fold your cards when playing 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo Poker.

    When You Have It –

Because 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo is a fixed limit game, you need to bet it when you have it. If you look down at your cards and you have a pretty good starting hand you need to bet it. If someone else has already bet it, raise it up. Players that looked at their hand and had a so-so hand might call the first bet, but if you double the bet, they will be less likely to call it. This is something very important to remember any time you are playing any kind of fixed limit Poker. One bet isn’t too scary, but if you are able to make it so they have to call 2 or 3 bets before they have put money in the pot, the less likely they will call without a top notch hand.

When you’re Still Trying to Catch Something –

If you look down at your hand and it isn’t great yet, but has tons of outs and great possibilities, you want to play it, but you want to keep it as cheap as possible until you have made your hand. If you started with a drawing hand and it has stayed cheap the whole way, don’t try to bet everyone out of the pot. Keep the bets in the middle, not completely cheap (because you want to get some money out of them), but not so high that they will fold out. Once you have made your hand you no longer want the players to fold. You want to build that pot up! The bigger the pot is, the more money you will win if you win the hand.
