  • Mixed Hold’em – Pokerstars SCOOP Event #9

Mixed Hold'em3/27/2010 – The first mixed poker game event  in this year’s Spring Championship of Online Poker,  A.K.A “SCOOP”,  at Pokerstars will be Mixed Hold’em. This will be event #9 and will consist of three tournaments; low, medium and high. The total combined prize pool for these 3 events is $700,000, and overlays are expected. Mixed Hold’em is a mix of the two most popular ways to play Texas Hold’em; fixed and no limit. You will start off playing FL Hold’em for 9 hands and then play 9 hands of NL Hold’em.  Mixed Hold’em is a challenging game due to the difference in strategies. Switching from a no limit strategy to a fixed limit strategy, seamlessly, is the key to success.

    Pokerstars SCOOP Event 9 – Mixed Hold’em

Poker Stars recognizes the fact that not everyone has the bankroll to play in tournaments with buy-ins exceeding $100.  This is why they have decided to break each of the 2010 SCOOP events up into 3 categories. Here is a breakdown of the three Mixed Hold’em events:

    Date:  05/05/2010 – Time: 14:00 ET

    - Low:  $22 buy-in, $100,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool

    - Medium: $215 buy-in, $200,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool

    - High: $2,100 buy-in,  $400,000  Guaranteed Prize Pool

Each of these tournaments will be played in the “6 max” format. This means that each table will have a maximum of six players. Pokerstars is hosting a wide range of feeders and satellites to each of these events so everyone has a chance to play. Buy-ins range from $2.20 or 275 FPP’s.
