H.O.R.S.E Poker Spring Championship Tournaments
Pokerstars is hosting the Spring Championship of Online Poker, also known as SCOOP. All together there are $30,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools. The H.O.R.S.E championship tournaments are broken up tinot three categories that will all run on the 5th or April. below you will find information on each HORSE poker tournament that covers three different buyin levels so everyone can take advantage of the tournament. these three HORSE tournaments have a combined guaranteed prize pool of $1,500,000.
Low Stakes H.O.R.S.E Poker SCOOP Tournament
The championship H.O.R.S.E tournament with the lowest buyin starts at 14:30 (ET) on April 5th. The buyin is $109 and it has a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000. The maximum number of registrants is 1760. currently only 100 players have signed up for this huge tournament. one aspect of this tournament I like is the ability to make deals at the final table. Pokerstars is offering numerous satellites to this tournament that start at just $30+3.
Medium Stakes H.O.R.S.E Poker SCOOP Tournament
The medium stakes H.O.R.S.E poker SCOOP tournament begins at the same time at the small stakes tournament. This tournament has a $1,000 + $50 but-in and offers a massive $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The maximum number of players is 2,250. At the time of this posting there are no scheduled satellites but I’m sure in the coming weeks Pokerstars will host atleast a few to make this tournament more affordable.
High Stakes H.O.R.S.E Poker SCOOP Tournament
Like the two tournaments mentioned above the high stakes H.O.R.S.E tournament will start at 14:30 ET on April 5th, 2009. This tournament has a huge buy-in of $10,000 + $300 and a guaranteed prize pool of $750,000, making it one of the largest H.O.R.S.E tournaments ever played online. The maximum number of players is 1,000 so the largest overlay possible is $250,000. I expect to see a lot of pro’s playing in this tournament. Its well beyond my budget but I will definitely be competing in the medium stakes MTT and observing this one at the same time. There are currently no satellites running to this event.
These are the most prestigious H.O.R.S.E tournaments so far in 2009. Pokerstars always sets their tournaments up in a way that make them affordable to every player that wants to compete in them. Thats why they have broken it up into 3 different buy-in classes. With only 27 days to go I can hardly wait. if you are interested in playing in any of these you had better brush up on your H.O.R.S.E tournament strategy.
