We’ll take a look at the weekly guaranteed Sunday Million, the monthly $1 Million Turbo Takedown, the battle of the planets sit and go leader board and the many live event seats that you can win through PokerStars.
PokerStars Sunday Million
PokerStars Sunday Million is the biggest weekly guaranteed tournament in all of online poker, with a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 Million each week. This tournament is a $215 buy-in event that takes place at 6:30pm EST. The tournament usually draws in about 8000 entrants and awards a first place cash prize that is usually worth almost $200K! PokerStars offers a ton of satellites into this event throughout the week, which gives you the chance to turn a few dollars into a ton of cash.
Turbo Takedown
PokerStars created the turbo takedown to provide players with the perfect opportunity to turn their Frequent Player Points into cold hard cash. The turbo takedown provides both great odds of cashing for players, with 1 in 3 players making the money, as well as the opportunity for a huge payday with a first place prize of $100K guaranteed. In fact the entire final table of the turbo takedown makes a good amount of cash, with 2nd place taking down $60K, 3rd place taking $40K, all the way down to $5.5K for 9th. The PokerStars Turbo Takedown takes place at 2:30pm EST on the last Sunday of every month and has an entry fee of 5000 FPP’s. If you don’t want to use that many FPP’s or don’t have that many, PokerStars offers a wide variety of satellites into the event from as little as 10 FPP’s.
Battle of the Planets Sit and Go Leader board
PokerStars Battle of the Planets sit and go leader board gives away over $3 Million each year. There are 9 different leader boards for different buy-in levels so that everyone has a chance to win a leader board, regardless of their bankroll. Each of these 9 leader boards are named after a plant, from Mercury which is between $1 and $2.99, up to Jupiter which is for any sit and go’s over $300. Each of these 9 leader boards is once again split into two different leader boards. The first is the ‘low orbit’ leader board which is meant for more recreational players who don’t play in a ton of tournaments every week. In the ‘low orbit’ leader board players points are counted in blocks of 20 tournaments. The other leader board is the ‘high orbit’, where points are counted in blocks of 100 tournaments and is meant for the more high volume players. For example, if you play in 224 sit and go tournaments in a week, then you have 11 entries to make the ‘low orbit’ leader board and 2 entries to the ‘high orbit’ leader board. Every week $3000 is split among the top 100 players in both the ‘low orbit’ and ‘high orbit’ Mercury leader board and this amount increases up to $10,000 being split among the top players in both Jupiter leader boards. So if you put together a nice streak of 20 or 100 sit and go tournaments at PokerStars you will be awarded with cash.
Live Event Satellites
PokerStars sponsors a ton of live events worldwide and offers plenty of chances to win seats in them from online satellite tournaments. PokerStars sponsors the Latin America Poker Tour (LAPT) and the European Poker Tour (EPT) and offers many opportunities to win seats into these events. You can also win seats into many other live events such as the World Series of Poker or the Aussie Millions. Most of the satellites to the live events have between a $200 and $1000 buy-in and you can gain entry into these live event satellites through the many super satellites that PokerStars runs.
