  • 8 Game Poker Rising In Popularity

I never thought I would see the day where H.O.R.S.E poker was not the most played mixed poker game but lately I have been noticing a lot more traffic at the 8-game poker tables than the HORSE tables. Granted 8-game poker is only available at Pokerstars so this only holds true there but I find this pretty amazing considering 8-game mix is fairly new and fairly difficult to master.

Currently there are only 35 real money H.O.R.S.E players at Pokerstars and there are over 50 real money 8-game poker players. Its 5:30 am here just south of Chicago so this is definitely the slowest time of the day. Perhaps this can be explained though. I would imagine a majority of the mixed game players at the tables right now are not from the United States. European players tend to be more inclined to play a wider variety of card games.

I suppose I will have to look into this during the busy hours but even if this only holds true during the off hours at Stars it is still shows how successful 8-game poker has been.
