  • 8 Game Mix Poker – SCOOP Event 29 At Pokerstars

8-game8 Game Mix poker has only been around for a couple of years and it is the king of mixed poker variants. You’ll only find 8 Game Mix at Pokerstars but Full Tilt Poker has a similar game called 7 Game Mix. In  30 days (May 13th), Pokerstars will be launching three massive 8 Game Mix tournaments as part of their SCOOP tournament event. Event #9 at Pokerstar’s 2010 SCOOP promotion consists of three tournament. There have one for small stakes, medium stakes and high stakes players. The combined guaranteed (GTD) prize pool for the tournaments is $475,000. I made a similar post about the Mixed Hold’em SCOOP event, click the link for more info.  Here is a breakdown of the three 8-Game events:

    8-Game Mix – SCOOP #9 – $33 Buy-in

This 8-Game mix tournament has a $33 buy-in and a GTD prizepool of $75,000.  You can satellite your way in for a little as $7.70. There is exactly 30 days til the tournament starts and there are already 142 entries, including one professional player. To meet the GTD amount Pokerstars will need 2,722 players, which may prove tough so be sure to keep an eye on this one for an overlay.

    8-Game Mix – SCOOP #9 – $320 Buy-in

The GTD prize pool is doubled for this 8 Game Mix tournament while the buy-in is increase by almost 1,000%. This means that Pokerstars is not expecting many entries and an overlay is quite possible. Currently there are 10 entries, two of which are on Team Pokerstars. I plan on playing in this event. The competition is sure to be stuff but with a small playing field anything can happen. Check out our 8-Game Mix strategy article for tips on how to play.

    8-Game Mix – SCOOP #9 – $3,150 Buy-in

This will be the largest 8-Game Mix tournament in 2010 (so far). The buy-in is over 3 grand so this will be an exclusive event with mostly professional players. It has a GTD prize pool of $250,000, which would require around 80 entries. In my opinion an overlay is pretty much guaranteed. I wish I had the bankroll to play in this event. If 15-20 of you guys signed up at any of the rooms listed on this site, made a deposit and played xxx amount of hands I might be able to play lol. Pokerstars is offering our players a 100% bonus on their first 3 deposits, up to $600:
